‘AIR’FINITE’ is an 8 channel sound sculpture .
Materials: AIR, latex spheres, automated valve mechanism, Arduino, accordion reeds, algorithmic signal processing, loudspeakers.

This piece explores the finiteness of air—the very substance we breathe – and engages with the idea of air as a HYPEROBJECT—a concept from speculative realism that refers to systems so vast and complex that they transcend our usual modes of understanding. ‘Air’Finite’ transforms air into a tangible and dynamic medium through an ensemble of inflatable spheres, each equipped with reeds and played via a custom-built electro-mechanical system. In constant act of morphing and reshaping , through deflation of the spheres the corresponding sonic transformation we witness air becoming both audible and visually graspable.

Informed by the speculative theory Novacene of environmentalist and writer James Lovelock –
An installation of 3 robotic agents which are powered by the sun and sonically reactive to the environmental changes proved the potential of solar power to synthesise sounds. Solar Bugs are modular and mobile synths played by an ever fluctuating sunlight , responding to the rotations of the earth or changes in the weather .
